Photo by Austin VanDaele HARTLAND – The Davison girls’ golf team traveled to Hartland Glen Golf Club for its Div. 1 regional Wednesday after press deadlines. Other teams in the regional include Brighton, Grand Blanc, Grand Ledge, Hartland, Holt, Howell, Lapeer, Milford, Saginaw Heritage and White Lake Lakeland.

The top-three teams and top-three individuals not on a qualifying team will earn a spot in the Div. 1 state finals, held at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek on October 19 and 20.

Both Brighton and Hartland entered the regional as stateranked teams, with Brighton at No. 4 in Div. 1 and Hartland No. 9. The Lady Cardinals are one of the stronger teams in the region, but they will have no easy path to a top-three finish with Grand Blanc also in the mix. Davison finished second with a 362 at the Saginaw Valley League championship on September 27, while Grand Blanc was right on its heels in third with a 372.

Isabel Mabry, Abbey Ross, Caylee Ries and Brooke Kalisz have put up consistently low scores throughout the season and will be key to the team’s success going forward. Be sure to check back in next week’s edition for a full regional recap.
