The Lady Cards placed second with 52, while the boys were third with 57 at the Saginaw Valley League Jamboree at Carman-Ainsworth on Tuesday. Savannah Sipley placed second in 19:54.65, Makenzie Brownrigg was fourth in 21:14.97 and Anna Gill 11th in 21:54.79. Ellie Timmons finished 18th in 23:06.98 and Kylie Eaton 19th in 23:19.13.

Jason Millis took fourth for the boys in 17:31.92, Spencer Torok was ninth in 18:10.38 and Zack Metzger 12th in 18:21.80. Kenny Minto was 13th in 18:26.75 and Brady McArdle 19th in 19:05.23.

Both teams took third place at last Thursday’s Marauder Invite, hosted by St. Johns. The boys had 96 and the girls 73. Sipley led the girls in second in 19:38.7, Brownrigg was eighth in 21:05.7 and Gill 14th in 21:45.5.

Eaton took 20th in 22:15.7 and Abby Howes was 30th in 22:45.3 Millis paced the boys in fifth in 17:07.8, Torok placed 15th in 17:45.0 and Metzger 17th in 17:47.0. McArdle was 28th in 18:16.5 and Minto 36th in 18:36.8. – B.P.

GOLF

Isabel Mabry’s round of 42 led Davison as it competed in its third Saginaw Valley League Jamboree of the season at Currie Golf Course Tuesday.

Brooke Kalisz carded a 46, Caylee Ries had a 47, Chloe Evoy a 48 and Abbey Ross a 49. Ellary Darling also competed, carding a 58.

On Monday, Davison played host to the 41st Annual Davison Invite, held at Davison Country Club. The Lady Cardinals finished fourth with 365, while Fenton was first with 351, Grand Blanc second with 357 and Flint Powers third with 358.

Mabry’s round of 82 led Davison on the day, followed by Ries with an 88. Kalisz carded a 94, Evoy a 101 and Ross a 102 to round out the scores.

Last Thursday, Davison was at The Jewel for the second SVL Jamboree of the season.

Ries led the team with a 41, followed by Mabry with a 44. Ross carded a 48, Evoy had a 51, Kalisz finished with 54 and Darling added a 64.

Davison is at the Genesee County Invite at Flint Elks Monday. – A.V.

SOCCER

The Davison boys’ team tied with Flint Powers 3-3 Monday. Davison goals were scored by Cameron O’Connor, Matthew McDonald and Adam Craton.

SWIM

The Lady Cardinals swam against Bay City Central and Grand Blanc in a dual meet Tuesday, losing to host Grand Blanc 109-65 but beating Central 137-29. Grand Blanc also beat Central 115-39.

Davison was led by its 400 freestyle relay team of Mallori Russell, Mia Telke, Grace Tiggart and freshman Grace Dorman, which won its event by more than 30 seconds in 4:59.23. Emily Moriartey, Ashlynn Hopkins, Molly Russell and Lily Brown took third in the 200 medley relay with 2:17.00. Moriartey, Hopkins, Brown and freshman Grace Dorman also placed second overall in the 200 freestyle relay with 1:58.53.

Dorman also won the 100 backstroke by more than three seconds in 1:17.19 and took third in the 200 freestyle, finishing in 2:25.32. Hopkins was the only other Cardinal to win an individual event, finishing the 100 breaststroke in 1:26.65. Hopkins also took fourth in the 100 butterfly with 1:21.88.

Brown was third in the 50 freestlyle with 28.23. She also finished fourth in the 500 freestyle with 6:41.58.

Moriartey finished the 200 IM in 2:44.60 and third place. She also took fourth in the 100 freestyle at 1:05.72.

Kelsey Strader also took third in diving with 133.35 points. — J.O.

HOLE IN ONE

Lapeer Country Club

LAPEER – Ed Lipe aced the No. 6, 120-yard hole at the Lapeer Country Club on Sept. 10. He used an 8-iron and his shot was witnessed by Tom Burcar, Tom Conner and Jim Brisey – L.P.
