Photo by Todd Boone DAVISON – The Davison boys’ basketball team came out on the winning end against league opponent Bay City Central on Friday, topping the Wolves 76-48. The Cardinals generated 22 turnovers and had three players with double-digit points to help Davison notch the win.

Davison took a massive 26-9 lead in the opening quarter and added a 17-7 second to lead 43-16 at the intermission. The Cardinals then added a 15-12 third. Bay City Central outscored Davison 20-18 in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

Cade Coleman led Davison with 22 points and was 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. Austin Roland chipped in 15 points, including a pair of dunks and three triples. Tyreese Watson also put up 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five assists.

“One of our key differences tonight was our balanced scoring with nine different Cardinals scoring at least three points on the night,” said Robert Hatten, Davison coach. “Also, the Cardinals only had five turnovers, compared to 22 for Bay City Central. One category we need to improve on this week is rebounding. We gave up way too many second-chance opportunities and easy baskets.”

The Cardinals, 5-2 overall, 2-0 league, hosts Carman-Ainsworth on Friday.
