Photo by Jason Gatica BURTON — Just a few months ago Allie See was a normal second grader at Barhitte Elementary. A swollen neck sent Allie to the hospital. A bone marrow test would confirm Allie had a form of cancer called Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Allie’s mother, Mary Frazier, quit her job to care for Allie. Chris Frazier, Allie’s father, also out of work, realized the family would need help.

Bentley Schools joined in for Allie’s cause and held a spaghetti dinner benefit to raise money for chemotherapy costs.

On Feb. 19, Bentley Schools will continue their support by holding a varsity girl’s basketball game to raise funds. Athletic Director Tim McComb expects to raise as much as $1,100. The cost to attend the game is $5. T-shirt’s will be sold for $10.

The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort Hwy. in Flint, will hold another benefit for Allie on Feb. 25. Allie’s friends and family — affectionately calling themselves Team A.L.L.ie — along with the organization Locks of Love, will raise money with a 50/50 raffle.

Items being auctioned are a package deal from Strange Daze Tattoo, a B.C. Rich Warlock guitar and Detroit Pistons merchandise.

Tickets will be $5 at the door.
